Wakefield girls track and field team second at Titan Classic meet

Warriors had many place in top five, with multiple victories

The Wakefield High School girls track and field team finished second at the Titan Classic High School Invitational at Alexandria City High. Wakefield scored 140 points. Host Alexandria City won with 172.

Leading the Wakefield Warriors girls was Grace Armitage. She won the 100-meter hurdles in 17.18 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 46.86 and placed fourth in the triple jump.

Wakefield’s Lilly Armstrong won the 2,000-meter steeplechase (7:51.46).

 Also for Wakefield, Hosanna Connor was second in the pole vault, third in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump; Kenedy Shields was second in the high jump; Zanaeya Boyd was third in the shot and fourth in the discus; Kennedy McClary was third in the 100; Madeleine Wearing was fifth in the 100 and 400; Sofia Vasquez was fourth in the long jump; Shania Woolery was fourth in the high jump; Ella Howard was fifth in the 100 hurdles; Leah Wargo and Corinne Breyault was second and third, respectively, in the steeplechase; and Hannah Schons was fourth in the steeplechase and fifth in the high jump.
