W-L, Yorktown athletes make college sports commitments

Multiple players hope to earn soccer, lacrosse roster sports

Five Washington-Liberty High School athletes recently signed letters of intent to play college sports.

Many high-school athletes from Arlington recently announced their commitments during letter of intent signing ceremonies to play various sports in college for the 2023-24 season.

From Washington-Liberty High School, Audrey White will be a member of the women's crew program at Rutgers University, Conor Cohen and John Matkock will play men's soccer at Lafayette College and George Washington University, respectively, Ava Landsbury will join the women's softball squad at Smith College, Ellie Joyce will dive for the University of North Carolina women's team.

Yorktown High School had 26 athletes participate in a signing event at the school. The list is below.

Baseball: Kyle Langley (James Madison University) and Trevor McAndrews (Emory University).

Football: Charlie Taylor (Kenyon College).

Crew: Hannah Offutt (South Methodist University), Daniel Sandall (Case Western Reserve University), Izzy Barnes (University of Virginia) and Jimmy Greenwood (Hobart College).

Field hockey: Emily Stafford (University of Pennsylvania).

Women's soccer: Aminata Davis (Brown University), Evelyn Casadaban (Georgetown University), Talia Agrillo (Boston University), Mia Stoller (College of Wooster) and Moira Flynn (University of Miami).

Men's soccer: Graeme Ewart (Washington & Jefferson College) and Ryan Hydrick (Hendrix College).

Golf: Ben Newfield (Davidson University).

Men's lacrosse: Miles Fang (Lindenwood University), Jack Martinez (Lindenwood University), Will Hock (St. Mary's College of Maryland) and Vinnie Spolidoro (Embry-Riddle University).

Women's lacrosse: Caroline Storer (Gettysburg College).

Softball: Zoe Brennan (Gettysburg College).

Women's swimming: Bridgett Rose Morris Larkin (Old Dominion University) and Sarah Newman (Lafayette College).

Men's swimming: Luke Aslaksen (Occcidental College).

Wrestling: Max Apsel (Johns Hopkins University).
