O'Connell swimmer has strong performance at conference meet

Divers also have top finishes for the Knights

Anna Sullivan, swimming for Overlee during a summer meet, had two top-four finishes at the recent Washington Catholic Athletic Conference girls championships.

Led by two top-four finishes from Anna Sullivan, the Bishop O’Connell Knights finished fifth in the team standings at the recent Washington Catholic Athletic Conference swimming and diving high-school championships.

Sullivan was second in the 200 freestyle and fourth in the 500 free. She also swam on O’Connell’s fourth-place 200 medley relay and on the sixth-place 400 free relay.

Also for the O’Connell girls, Audrey McKeen was second in the 100 breaststroke, Kalyn O’Hara was fifth in the 200 individual medley race and sixth in the 100 backstroke, and Maddie Cervenak was seventh in the 100 free.

In girls diving for O’Connell, Lili Lepore finished second, Cervenak third and Reagan Cervenak sixth.

In the WCAC boys meet, O’Connell’s Tim Adye was fifth in the 50 free and 100 free, Graham Rowan was sixth in the back, the 200 and 400 free relays were fifth, and the medley relay was seventh.

In boys diving, O’Connell’s Kellen Colevas placed second.

The O’Connell boys finished sixth in the team standings.
