O'Connell girls softball team goes undefeated in regular season

Squad enters postseason with 26-game winning streak

Now it's on to the postseason for Katie Lutz and the undefeated Bishop O'Connell Knights.

The Bishop O'Connell Knights finished the regular season with a 15-0 record in girls softball.

In its final three games, the state's No. 1- routed Bishop McNamara, 13-1, then downed St. John’s, 13-4, in Washington Catholic Athletic Conference games.
O'Connell is the top seed in this week's WCAC tournament.

Katie Kutz threw a seven-inning perfect game and struck out 19 against Seton. Bri Lencz homered, Ari Clark had two hits and three RBI and Emma Prykanowski had an RBI single.

Lencz started and got the win, throwing a three-hitter and fanning 12 with no walks against McNamara.

Abby Bond had four hits and five RBI, Ari Clark had two hits and an RBI, Alyssa Dichard and Lauren Gatti doubled and Kutz had a hit and RBI.

In the win over St. John’s, Kutz threw all seven innings. She struck out 15, allowed two earned runs and did not walk a batter.
Kutz had three doubles, Prykanowski homered, Bond doubled twice, Zoe Wanek had two hits, and Sophie Anderson and Lencz each had a hit and an RBI. Sophia Taliaferro had hits in those games, as well.
