Marymount's Wyatt Hockenberry recently scored his 1,000th career point.

A strong performance off the bench for the Marymount University Saints in a Jan. 31 men’s basketball game included scoring the 1,000th point of his college career for Wyatt Hockenberry.

The 6-foot-2 senior guard amassed a single-game season-high 20 points in Marymount’s 82-65 home victory in Arlington over Salisbury University in non-conference action, as the Saints upped their overall record to 13-7 through that contest.

Hockenberry also had two rebounds in the win, blocked a shot and had one assist.

His team-high point total included hitting three three-pointers and making 7 of 7 foul shots. Hockenberry’s 1,000th point came on a three-pointer at the midway point of the first half.

Hockenberry became the 14th men’s basketball player in program history at Marymount to reach the 1,000-point club.

Hockenberry is playing his third season for Marymount, having scored 794 points during those campaigns for the Saints through 20 games this season. He scored 220 points during his college freshman season for Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. He has made 142 three-pointers in his college career, including 57 last season and 22 during the current campaign.

Hockenberry was averaging 10.3 points per game through 20 contests this season, making him the team’s third leading scorer. He started all 26 games for Marymount last season and averaged 13.8 points per game.

Entering Feb. 3 action, Marymount led the Atlantic East Conference standings with a 6-1 record.
