Better Sports Club's April dinner meeting moved back a week

Washington Post sportswriter Les Carpenter will be the guest speaker at the Better Sports Club of Arlingeton's April dinner.

To better accommodate the guest speaker, the Better Sports Club of Arlington’s monthly April dinner meeting has been moved back to Wednesday, April 24 at 6:15 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus hall.

The speaker will be Les Carpenter, a longtime sportswriter for The Washington Post, who focuses on writing about the Olympics.

He will have information about the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris in a few months. Carpenter also has written about professional baseball and football for the Post. He has been a columnist and feature writer at the Seattle Times, Yahoo Sports and the Connecticut Post and he covered American sports for the Guardian.

The cost of the dinner is $30. Reservations can be made on the club’s Website at at bettersportsclub.com.

In other club business, a reminder that annual membership dues were due by March 1. Payments can be made on the club’s Website.

Additionally, the board is preparing for the club’s annual awards event on June 12, and has new members in Matt Eichler and Brian Alpert.
