Letter: Roy is ready to take on challenges facing Arlington

'Her energy and desire to engage and follow up is the hallmark of her lifetime of service'
letter-to-editor

To the editor: I write in support of Natalie Roy, a long-time resident of Lyon Park and activist in Arlington on a host of issues, including education, the environment and gun safety.

For more than 10 years, she has built a real-estate business that honed her understanding of Arlington’s housing challenges, particularly those pesky “expanded housing options” (AKA Missing Middle) that are most often not affordable, especially for moderate- and low-income families.

Roy will strive to establish and support non-profit land trusts and housing co-ops that can buy older homes that are vulnerable to being torn down, upgrade them and sell at below-market costs to these otherwise priced-out families.

I have known Roy for many years and appreciate her candor and can-do attitude. Her energy and desire to engage and follow up is the hallmark of her lifetime of service as a mom, community leader and business professional. Our county needs her big heart, strong backbone and willingness to speak up on our County Board.
