To the editor: I am writing to express my whole-hearted support for Natalie Roy for Arlington County Board. She will be my first choice when I vote in the Democratic primary on June 18.

Roy has a wealth of experience in Arlington’s community and schools, in real estate and in environmental activism on which to draw. Her civic volunteer activities are too numerous to list here; she has demonstrated her commitment to Arlington County and her fidelity to the Arlington Way.

As a longtime resident, Roy understands the importance of making the county accessible to all, including low- and middle-income families of all backgrounds at all stages of life. She believes the county should embrace core planning principles instead of promoting developer-driven density programs that will result in gentrification and displacement and will not produce housing that is more affordable to firefighters, teachers and other public servants.

Roy will also be my first choice because she has the environmental bona-fides to ensure our sustainable and livable future and fight for Arlington’s tree canopy. She is committed to making certain that the benefits of a robust tree canopy are equitably realized throughout all our neighborhoods.
