Letter: Katcher will restore trust in prosecutor's office

'He believes in a fair and equitable justice system that provides closure and healing for victims'
letter-to-editor

To the editor: Josh Katcher, a longtime Democrat, may not be part of the local Democratic Party’s “in crowd,” but that’s precisely why he should be the next commonwealth’s attorney. He brings a fresh perspective and genuine commitment to serving the people of Arlington and Falls Church.

Unlike his opponent, Katcher understands that being a Democrat doesn’t mean blindly following party lines. He recognizes the importance of inclusivity and welcomes the support of anyone who believes in his vision for thoughtful prosecution. He puts the community’s interests above political affiliations.

But what really sets him apart is his belief in justice with compassion. He understands the need to hold offenders accountable, while also helping them rehabilitate. He advocates for creative and thoughtful prosecution, taking into account the unique circumstances of each case.

His opponent, Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, has failed to focus on victims’ rights. Since she took office, many Arlington and Falls Church victims have been denied justice, with their perpetrators facing few consequences. Katcher will implement policies that ensure victims are heard, supported, and that their cases are thoroughly prosecuted. He believes in a fair and equitable justice system that provides closure and healing for victims.

His approach isn’t about seeking harsher punishments or longer jail sentences. It’s about ensuring meaningful consequences for those who have harmed others. He recognizes justice must be served – not just for the sake of victims, but also to maintain public trust in the legal system.

It’s time for a change, and Josh Katcher is the candidate who can bring justice back to Arlington and Falls Church.
