To the editor: Julie Farnam is my first choice for Arlington County Board in the June 18 Democratic primary.
I support Farnam – civic activist, former security and intelligence professional with the federal government, business owner and mother of two school-age children – as she is an effective advocate with a big heart and strong backbone, inspired by her grandmother who instilled in her the desire to treat everyone with dignity and empathy, to speak out against wrongs and to work to improve things and provide opportunities for future generations.
Her vision for the county is one that balances strategic development with sustainability, while preserving the charm and character that have made Arlington such a special place to live.
Farnam recently spoke out about the county spending $750 an hour to defend its ‘Missing Middle’ lawsuit, an indication that she is willing to take a stand and address controversial issues, especially this one that has caused so much upset.
Join me and vote Farnam first on the June 18 ballot.
