When Arlington officials some months back announced plans for a “gun-buyback” effort, we wondered (to ourselves) why they would bother. Surely the effort would attract few people willing to trade guns for gift cards, we reasoned.

Turns out we were wrong – the June 8 event drew a very large crowd, so large that it had to be shut down early when the gift cards ran out. A second one is in the planning stages.

We’re big enough to admit when we were wrong. And in this instance, we most certainly were!
