On March 31 at 4:49 p.m., a juvenile female was walking from her vehicle parked in the 1100 block of South Joyce Street when she observed a group of approximately seven juveniles nearby, Arlington police said.

Police said two female members of the group approached the victim and stole her car keys before the group dispersed and fled the scene.

The victim ran after the suspects, but was threatened with pepper spray, police said. The victim then attempted to call police, during which one juvenile male reportedly brandished what appeared to be a firearm, stole the victim’s phone and fled the area.

Responding officers located the suspects and, following multiple foot pursuits, detained them in the area of the Pentagon City Metro station. During the investigation, an airsoft gun was recovered.

A variety of charges were levied against the suspects, including robbery, conspiracy to commit a felony, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, attempted malicious wounding by a caustic agent and preventing an emergency call to police.

One of the suspects was treated for minor injuries on scene.
