On May 26 at 3:50 a.m., an officer was driving in the 3400 block of Wilson Boulevard and observed a vehicle driving the wrong way down a one-way street, Arlington police said.

The officer activated her emergency equipment, and as she attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver (the sole occupant of the vehicle) exited and fled on foot.

According to police, the suspect’s vehicle continued to roll, striking the officer’s cruiser head-on. Both vehicles suffered minor damage; no injuries were reported.

Responding officers conducted a search of the area, but did not locate the suspect.

Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the evening from the 3400 block of Wilson Boulevard, and that a second vehicle had a window shattered and a backpack stolen.

The suspect is described as a black male.
