Police: Alleged burglar doesn't get out of building before arrest

Incident occurred in residential structure in Ballston area

On April 19 at 7:52 a.m., a man gained entry into a residential building in the 1000 block of North Stuart Street, allegedly opened packages and stole items, Arlington police said.

Responding officers located the suspect in the stairwell of the building, took him into custody without incident and recovered the stolen property, police said.

The suspect – 21-year-old Jamie Marquez-Banegas of Falls Church – was arrested and charged with burglary and drunk in public. He was held without bond, police said.
