An advocacy group will rally in support of Missing Middle housing changes in Arlington on Feb. 25.

The event will be led by YIMBYs of Northern Virginia, and will be held at 1 p.m. on Courthouse Plaza outside the Ellen M. Bozman Government Center, 2100 Clarendon Blvd. It will feature remarks from a number of groups, including the Arlington branches of the NAACP and League of Women Voters, Sierra Club and Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement.

“The rally will demonstrate to the Arlington County Board the strong and widespread support for expanded housing options in the county,” leaders of the YIMBYs (“Yes in My Back Yard”) said.

The rally comes as County Board members in March are expected to consider and, possibly, act on zoning changes that would effectively eliminate single-family zoning through wide swaths of Arlington, replacing it with the possibility that up to six homes could be placed on residential lots.
