It'll likely be cold enough for snow in N.Va., but way too dry

Clear skies at night will be major weather pattern for next few days

The coming seven days will provide temperatures that are (at night at least) low enough to produce snow across Northern Virginia, but will be lacking in the other key ingredient – precipitation.

The GazetteLeader's official weather partner, AccuWeather, uses the same word to describe conditions each of the nights from Feb. 2 to Feb. 8: "Clear."

That doesn't rule out the stray burst from the skies, but it seems unlikely to produce anything major.

Yet there is still plenty of winter to go. Mother Nature isn't one to be trifled with.
