Peter Olivere has been announced as recipient of the 2023 Community Leader Award of the Inter-Service Club Council of Arlington.

For his work with Arlington Neighborhood Village, Peter Olivere has been named recipient of the inaugural Community Leader Award to be bestowed by the Inter-Service Club Council of Arlington.

Though new for 2023, the Community Leader Award is the linear descendant of the Man and Woman of the Year honors that the organization has been presenting for more than 60 years.

“We received strong applications,” said Sandy Bushue, the organization’s president.

The Inter-Service Club Council of Arlington will hold its annual luncheon and awards presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at Washington Golf & Country Club. The event begins with a networking reception at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at noon.

The cost is $55 with a deadline of Nov. 13; for reservations, e-mail Deb Whitenton at debd509@aol.com. In addition, individuals can sponsor attendance of students at Marymount and George Mason universities; for information, contact Deneise Boyd at deneiseboyd@gmail.com.

Founded in 1940, the Inter-service Club Council serves as a clearinghouse for ideas for service organization and other civic-minded groups in Arlington. For full information, see the Website at www.arlingtoniscc.orc.
