Arlington Students for Climate Action will host a clothing swap on Sunday, Feb. 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the cafeteria at Washington-Liberty High School.

“The event aims to provide students with a fun and sustainable way to update their wardrobe without breaking the bank,” organizers said. “Members of the community are encouraged to bring in gently used clothing items they no longer wear or need or drop them off at the following participating locations: Casual Adventure, Central Library, Arlington Career Center, Yorktown High School, Wakefield High School and H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program.”

The clothing-swap event is open to all community members, with a focus on high-school and middle-school students. The event is free to attend, and there is no limit to the number of clothing items a participant can take.

"We want to create an event that is both fun and environmentally conscious," said one student organizer, Ananya Sinha. "Our goal is to provide an opportunity for students to update their wardrobe without contributing to fast fashion waste. Plus, it's a great way to socialize and meet new people!"

All leftover items will be donated to local charities or clothing banks.

The clothing swap event is organized by students with the support of EcoAction Arlington, Sierra Club Potomac River Group, NAACP Arlington Branch and Faith Alliance for Climate Solutions.
