ASSAULT ON POLICE:

• On Feb. 10 at 12:34 a.m., a man jumped in front of a vehicle in the 2000 block of Clarendon Boulevard and began yelling while holding what appeared to be a box-cutter, Arlington police said.

The victim in the vehicle left the scene, and responding officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody, police said.

The suspect was non-compliant, resisted and assaulted an officer, causing minor injuries, police said. A search of his person recovered a box-cutter, police said.

The suspect – 37-year-old Brian Tucker of Arlington – was arrested and charged with assault on police, carrying a concealed weapon, obstruction of justice and public intoxication. He was held without bond and was evaluated on scene by medics for injuries sustained prior to the arrival of officers, police said.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING:

• On Feb. 13, several individuals were inside a residence in the 5100 block of Columbia Pike when one individual allegedly left and used a vehicle without permission, Arlington police said.

At 5 a.m. on Feb. 14, the person who took the vehicle returned with another individual, and a verbal altercation among all parties ensued that escalated when one individual struck another with a glass bottle and another individual brandished what appeared to be a firearm, police said. Several of the combatants then fled, police said.

Responding officers sorted the situation out and arrested two suspects.

The first – 32-year-old Anthony Walker of the District of Columbia – was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and unauthorized use of a vehicle. The second – 30-year-old Clinton Gatlin of no fixed address – was arrested charged with brandishing and obstruction of justice.

The suspects were held without bond.

One of the victims sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by medics. Walker sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

ROBBERY:

• On Feb. 10 at 1:12 a.m., a man exited a business in the 300 block of 23rd Street South and was standing on the sidewalk when three men approached and began assaulting him, Arlington police said.

The suspects stole the victim’s wallet, cash, glasses and phone before fleeing the scene on foot, police said. The wallet later was recovered.

A man who knew the victim attempted to intervene but also was assaulted.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening. The witness did not require transport to a hospital.

The suspects are described as black males, wearing dark clothing.

• On Feb. 10 at 2:32 a.m., a man entered a business in the 3300 block of Wilson Boulevard in Arlington’s Ballston area and allegedly stole money from a tip jar, Arlington police said.

An employee confronted the suspect, during which the suspect made threatening statements before leaving the scene.

The suspect then entered a nearby business and stole money from a tip jar before fleeing, police said.

Responding officers located the suspect – 25-year-old Dawit Hailu Mitiku of no fixed address – who was arrested, charged with robbery and petty larceny, and was held without bond.

• On Feb. 10 at 1:07 p.m., two men entered a store in the 1000 block of South Hayes Street, and one concealed merchandise and attempted to exit the store without payment, Arlington police said.

The suspect was confronted by loss-prevention personnel and brandished a knife before fleeing on foot with the second man.

Responding officers located the pair in the area, police said.

The suspect – 34-year-old Mike Hudson of the District of Columbia – was arrested, charged with robbery and was held without bond.

The second individual – a 33-year-old Suitland, Md., man – was detained and determined to be wanted by the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and charged with two counts of probation violation.

• On Feb. 11 at 12:07 p.m., a man entered a business in the 700 block of North Glebe Road and concealed merchandise, Arlington police said.

When loss-prevention personnel confronted the suspect, he made threatening statements and exited the store without payment, police said.

Responding officers located the suspect at the Ballston Metro station and took him into custody. The stolen items were recovered, police said.

Initial attempts to identify the adult male suspect were unsuccessful during the preliminary investigation, police said. He was arrested and charged with robbery.

• On Feb. 14 at 4:38 p.m., two men were on a bus parked in the 1800 block of North Moore Street when they became engaged in a verbal dispute, Arlington police said.

The incident escalated when one of the individuals made threatening statements, brandished a knife and attempted to strike the other with it.

The suspect then stole the victim’s electronics before exiting the bus and fleeing into the Ballston Metro station.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black hat.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLE:

• On Feb. 13 at 10:35 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle reported as stolen traveling in the area of 10th Street North and Wilson Boulevard and initiated a traffic stop, Arlington police said.

The driver stopped the suspect vehicle and officers gave commands, during which the driver exited the vehicle and subsequently ran from the area, police said. Following a foot pursuit, the driver was taken into custody.

During a search of the vehicle, a stolen license plate was recovered, police said.

The suspect – 21-year-old Keonte Marshall of the District of Columbia – was arrested, charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, obstruction of justice and buying/receiving stolen goods. He was held without bond.

BRANDISHING:

• On Feb. 15 at 9:52 p.m., two male acquaintances became involved in a verbal dispute outside a residential building in the 100 block of North Thomas Street, Arlington police said.

The situation escalated when one of the two made threatening statements to the other and brandished a firearm, causing the victim to leave the area and contact police.

Responding officers located the suspect in the vicinity and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, officers recovered a firearm, ammunition and suspected narcotics, police said.

The suspect – 44-year-old Colin Brown of Arlington – was arrested and charged with brandishing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs and two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm/drugs.

PEEPING:

• On Feb. 9 at 11:21 p.m. a woman was in her home in the 1800 block of Key Boulevard when she observed an unknown man looking into a window, Arlington police said.

The suspect then fled, police said. He is described as a white male, 5’10”, with a thin build.

BURGLARY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• On Feb. 11 at 1 p.m., a man was inside his home in the 1900 block of North Veitch Street when he heard someone attempt to jiggle the handle to enter his home, Arlington police said.

When the victim opened the door, the suspect began running from the area.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’3”, with facial hair.

• Sometime between Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. and Feb. 13 at 2:15 p.m., someone forced entry to a vehicle in the 600 block of North Manchester Street and rummaged through the interior before leaving the scene.

No items were reported taken, and there is no suspect description.
