CARJACKING:

• On Jan. 31 at 10:33 p.m., a man was inside his parked vehicle in the 4000 block of Wilson Boulevard when two men approached and engaged him in conversation, Arlington police said.

During the interaction, the suspects opened the vehicle’s doors, forced the driver out and stole the vehicle, police said.

A lookout was broadcast and Virginia State Police located the vehicle outside Arlington, initiating a vehicle pursuit. When the vehicle re-entered Arlington on Interstate 395, Arlington officers subsequently joined the pursuit.

The chase was called off when the stolen vehicle crossed into the District of Columbia. The vehicle later was found unoccupied there.

No injuries were reported.

The suspects are described as black males, both roughly 6 feet tall with thin builds.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING:

• On Jan. 26 at 7:45 p.m., a man was inside the stairwell of a residential building in the 4400 block of 31st Street South when a man allegedly confronted him while holding a knife, Arlington police said.

The suspect made threatening statements, and the victim ran and contacted police. Responding officers took the suspect into custody on scene, police said.

The suspect – 45-year-old Gary Swan of Arlington – was arrested and charged with attempted malicious wounding.

ROBBERY:

• On Jan. 26 at 6:54 p.m., a man entered a business in the 1200 block of South Hayes Street, concealed merchandise and exited without payment, Arlington police said.

The suspect was confronted by two employees, who chased him when he ran, police said. A struggle ensued, which was ongoing as police arrived and took the suspect into custody.

One of the employees suffered injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The suspect – 29-year-old Keith Taylor of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with robbery.

• On Jan. 27 at 8:10 p.m., a youth provided his headphones to another juvenile to charge in the 2700 block of South Lang Street, and the second youth refused to return the property, Arlington police said.

The suspect was taken into custody on the scene, and petitions were obtained for robbery.

• On Jan. 30 at 7:03 p.m., two male acquaintances were conversing in the 2000 block of 14th Street North when the suspect allegedly stole the victim’s phone from his pocket, Arlington police said.

A verbal dispute ensued and then escalated to a physical altercation, during which the phone was damaged, police said.

The victim sought assistance in a nearby building; responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody. The victim sustained injuries described as minor and did not require medical attention, police said, while the suspect sustained injuries described as minor and was treated on scene by medics.

The suspect – 53-year-old Nana Kusi of no fixed address – was arrested, charged with robbery and destruction of property, and was held without bond.

INDECENT EXPOSURE:

• On Feb. 1 at 1:11 p.m., several individuals were walking in the area of Langston Boulevard at North Oak Street when they observed a man allegedly exposing himself, Arlington police said.

Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody.

The suspect – 39-year-old Channing Ballinger of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with public masturbation. He was held without bond.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED VEHICLE:

• On Jan. 29, a man and a woman known to each other were involved in a verbal dispute in the 2100 block of South Oxford Street, Arlington police said.

According to police, the man allegedly threw a dumbbell at the woman’s vehicle as she was entering it, causing property damage. Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody.

The suspect – 32-year-old Kyle Smith of Arlington – was arrested and charged with missile into occupied vehicle, assault-and-battery and destruction of property. He was held without bond.

BURGLARY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• On Jan. 29 at 7:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of South Glebe Road for a report of a breaking-and-entering in progress, Arlington police said.

Responding officers determined that two women and one man had attempted to force entry to the home, only to flee before police arrival. No entry was made.

During the course of the investigation, one of the female suspects was identified and a warrant for attempted burglary was issued.

• Sometime between Jan. 30 at 11:21 p.m. and Jan. 31 at 2:55 a.m., an individual made entrance to a residential building in the 4400 block of 4th Street North, Arlington police said.

According to police, the suspect tampered with and stole the contents of several packages from the mailroom before leaving on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his early 30s, with facial hair.

STOLEN VEHICLE:

• On Jan. 29, Arlington police reported the following stolen vehicles:

> A blue 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe with Florida tags was stolen from the 1100 block of South Joyce Street on Jan. 27.

> A white 2013 Hyundai Sonata with New York plates was stolen from the 200 block of Richmond Highway on Jan. 28.

• On Feb. 1, Arlington police reported the following stolen vehicles:

> A red 2018 Chevrolet Camaro was stolen from the 700 block of South Courthouse Road on Jan. 31.

> A silver 2015 Toyota Sienna was stolen from the 700 block of South Florida Street on Jan. 31.

• On Feb. 2, Arlington police reported the following stolen vehicle:

> A silver 2013 Hyundai Elantra was stolen Feb. 1 from the 1200 block of North Herndon Street.
