ROBBERY:

• On April 26 at 3:55 p.m., a man entered a store in the 1700 block of North Lynn Street and engaged employees in conversation before he went behind the counter and attempted to take food items, Arlington police said.

After employees confronted him, the suspect pushed two of them before exiting the store and fleeing. No injuries were reported.

The suspects are described as a black male, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5’6” to 5’8”.

• On April 26 at 6:16 p.m., three juvenile females entered a business in the 1000 block of South Hayes Street, concealed merchandise and attempted to leave, Arlington police said.

Loss-prevention personnel confronted the suspects; one of the youths struck personnel with merchandise before the group discarded the stolen items and fled the store, Arlington police said.

No injuries were reported.

Responding officers located suspects in the area and detained then. A petition for robbery was obtained for one of the suspects.

ATTEMPTED AGGRAVATED MALICIOUS WOUNDING:

• On April 30 at 5:48 p.m., a man was inside his home in the 900 block of South Dinwiddie Street when he heard a noise and observed a woman, who was known to him, attempt to enter through a window, Arlington police said.

The resident confronted the suspect, during which a struggle ensued. During the incident, the suspect struck the victim with a rock, brandished a knife and attempted to strike him with it, police said.

The victim left the home to seek assistance, at which point the suspect entered the home and took food and electronics before leaving, police said.

Responding officers located the suspect – 24-year-old Janae Lancaster of no fixed address – nearby. She was charged with attempted aggravated malicious wounding, assault-and-battery and burglary, and was held without bond.

The victim sustained injuries described as minor and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING:

• On April 30 at 1:02 a.m., a man was walking in the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive when another man approached him from behind, struck him with an unknown object and fled the scene on foot, Arlington police said.

The victim sustained what were described as serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a male of unknown race, with black hair and wearing dark clothing.

ASSAULT BY MOB:

• On May 3 at 1:41 a.m., multiple individuals were involved in a physical altercation in the 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington police said.

Responding officers located one of those involved in the incident and attempted to take him into custody, but he attempted to flee on foot, police said.

One suspect – 26-year-old George Pena of Woodbridge – was arrested and charged with assault-and-battery, obstruction of justice and public intoxication.

Two other suspects – 24-year-old Christian Suazo and 25-year-old Roberto Trujllo-Rivera – were arrested and charged with public intoxication.

The investigation is continuing.

 

BRANDISHING:

• On April 29 at 7:33 p.m., a woman was driving in the 2000 block of Columbia Pike when she was involved in a near-collision with a white sedan, Arlington police said.

The suspect vehicle then pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle at a red light and the passenger, described as a black female in her 20s, rolled down the window and began yelling at the victim. The passenger then threw a beverage towards the victim’s vehicle and brandished what appeared to be a firearm, police said.

The suspect vehicle then left the area. No injuries were reported.

• On May 2 at 5:38 p.m., a man and a woman known to each other were outside a residential building in the area of 24th Street South and South Kenmore Street when they became involved in a verbal dispute, Arlington police said.

During the incident, the man allegedly lifted his shirt to expose what appeared to be a firearm and made threatening statements to the woman, police said. The suspect then entered a vehicle with three other men inside and fled the scene, police said.

Responding officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 395 near Boundary Channel Drive. The occupants were detained without incident, police said.

During a search of the vehicle, who firearms and suspected narcotics were recovered, police said.

The first suspect – 34-year-old Alphonso Page III of Alexandria – was arrested and charged with brandishing, felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics. He was held without bond.

The other occupants of the vehicle – all men from Woodbridge, ages 27, 28 and 30 – were arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics.

NARCOTICS VIOLATION:

• On April 30 at 8:39 p.m., two individuals gained entry to a room in a hotel in the 2400 block of South Glebe Road, but departed after being detected by an employee, Arlington police said.

Responding officers located one of the suspects walking in the area. He was detained and during questioning provided false identifying information, police said.

During the course of the investigation, suspected narcotics were recovered, as were credit cards not belonging to the suspect, police said.

The suspect – 33-year-old Deonte Lewis of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (two counts), misdemeanor possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (two counts), credit-card theft (two counts) and providing false identification. He was held without bond.

PEEPING:

• On April 29 at 1:05 a.m., a woman was inside her home in the 2000 block of Columbia Pike when she observed a man looking inside, Arlington police said.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot, police said. Responding officers were unable to locate him.

The suspect is described as a black male, 40 to 50 years old, 5’8”, wearing dark clothing and carrying a phone.

• On April 29 at 9:27 p.m., a woman was inside her home in the 2000 block of Columbia Pike when she observed a man looking into the window of her home, Arlington police said.

The suspect then left the scene on foot, police said.

A lookout was broadcast and officers canvassed the area for the suspect. Officers subsequently located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the 1500 block of Columbia Pike and took him into custody. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the suspect had been observed peeping earlier that day.

The suspect – 60-year-old Herbert Otey of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with two counts of peeping (third or more offense within 10 years).

INDECENT EXPOSURE:

• On April 21 at 3:10 p.m., a man was in the area of the 2000 block of North Quinn Street when he observed a man expose himself, Arlington police said.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, in his 50s, approximately 200 pounds.

• On April 28 at 2:50 p.m., an individual was in the 2200 block of Columbia Pike when a man was observed exposing himself, Arlington police said.

There is no suspect description.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED VEHICLE:

• On April 29 sometime before 2:26 a.m., two male acquaintances became involved in a verbal dispute at Washington Boulevard and North Kirkwood Road, Arlington police said.

During the incident, one of the individuals threw a water bottle from his vehicle at the victim’s vehicle, police said, before fleeing in his vehicle.

STOLEN VEHICLE:

• On April 29, Arlington police reported that, a day before, a white 2017 Volkswagen Passat with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 3600 block of South Glebe Road.

• On April 30, Arlington police reported that, a day before, a maroon 2017 Kia Sorrento with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 1900 block of North Calvert Street, and a gold 2017 Hyundai Elantra with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the same block.

• On May 2, Arlington police reported that, a day before, a brown 2011 Hyundai Elantra with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 800 block of Army Navy Drive, and a silver 2009 Toyota RAV4 with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 1200 block of North Wayne Street.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• On April 21 between 9:45 and 10:30 a.m., a suspect or suspects entered a home in the 2900 block of South Glebe Road before leaving the scene.

The incident was reported on April 26.

• On April 26, a resident reported that, upon returning home to the 4000 block of Wilson Boulevard, property not belonging to her was found inside.

No items were reported stolen and there is no suspect description(s).
