MALICIOUS WOUNDING:

• On April 19 at 2 a.m., three men were inside a residence in the 2000 block of North Calvert Street when a verbal dispute erupted, Arlington police said.

During the dispute, the suspect allegedly made threatening statements and assaulted the victims, striking one with a glass bottle, police said. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle.

The victims were treated on scene by medics for injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening.

• On April 21 at 1 a.m., a man exited his vehicle in the 4600 block of South Four Mile Run Drive when another man approached, assaulted him and stole his wallet, Arlington police said.

The victim sustained injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

There is no suspect description.

The victim later discovered fraudulent activity on his bank statement, and reported the incident to police on April 24.

• On April 28 at 4:12 a.m., three men were outside a residence in the 5600 block of 8th Street South when two men turned on the third, Arlington police said.

The suspects allegedly assaulted the victim and attempted to steal his jewelry before fleeing on foot, police said.

The victim sustained injuries described as serious, but non-life-threatening, and was transported to a local hospital.

On April 29, officers obtained warrants for the two suspects, who then were taken into custody.

The suspects – 28-year-old Jose Osorio and 32-year-old Jason Osorio, both of Arlington – were charged with malicious wounding by mob and attempted robbery.

 

ROBBERY:

• On April 22 at 6:50 p.m., a man entered a business in the 1700 block of Crystal Drive, approached the counter and engaged an employee in conversation before allegedly stealing money from the register, Arlington police said.

A lookout for the suspect was broadcast, and Metro Transit Police located the suspect in the District of Columbia and took him into custody, police said.

The suspect - 35-year-old Maleek Geeter of Washington - was arrested and charged with robbery.

• On April 23 at 4 p.m., a woman entered a business in the 1300 block of North Pierce Street, concealed merchandise and attempted to exit without payment, Arlington police said.

When an employee confronted the suspect, she made threatening statements, exited the store, entered a white sedan and fled the scene, police said.

The suspect is described as a black female, 35 to 45 years old, with black hair, wearing a black shirt and tan skirt.

WEAPONS VIOLATION:

• On April 2 at 2:30 a.m., a group of juveniles entered a business in the 1600 block of Wilson Boulevard and stole merchandise, Arlington police said.

During the incident, one of the individuals was observed with what was believed to be a firearm concealed in his waistband, police said.

Responding officers located the group of juveniles near Wilson Boulevard and North Rhodes Street and detained them. During a search of the juvenile suspect, a ghost gun was recovered, police said.

Petitions for underage possession of a firearm and a concealed-weapons violation were obtained for the juvenile suspect. All the juveniles were banned from the business.

WEAPON POSSESSION ON SCHOOL PROPERTY:

• On April 24 at 9:35 a.m., officers were dispatched to Thomas Jefferson Middle School for a report of a weapon found in a student’s possession, Arlington police said.

Responding officers took custody of the BB gun and petitions for the juvenile are pending, police say.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE/DRUG CHARGES:

• On April 23 at 3:25 p.m., an officer observed a parked, unoccupied stolen vehicle with an altered VIN and stolen tags in a parking garage in the 1100 block of South Hayes Street, Arlington police said.

While officers were in the area, the two male suspects returned and entered the vehicle, during which a vehicle stop was initiated, police said. Officers gave commands to the suspects, who were initially non-compliant and attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle by striking a police vehicle, police said.

The suspects subsequently exited the vehicle and were taken into custody. No officer injuries were reported.

During the investigation, suspected narcotics and two firearms were recovered, police said.

The first suspect - 23-year-old Jalen Germany of no fixed address - was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, altered VIN, carrying a concealed weapon, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and a license-plate violation. It was determined he also was wanted by the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

The second suspect - 23-year-old Jeffery Queen of the District of Columbia - was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of possession of Schedule I/II narcotics, possession of Schedule III/IV/V narcotics, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics.

BRANDISHING:

• On April 20 at 4:10 a.m., a man was in the drive-through of a business in the 2600 block of Richmond Highway when he became engaged in a verbal dispute with an employee, Arlington police said.

The suspect then pulled his vehicle into the parking lot, verbally confronted a second employee and allegedly brandished a firearm before fleeing the scene in a dark sedan, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s, wearing glasses, a dark blue hoodie and facial covering. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

STOLEN VEHICLE:

• On April 23, Arlington police reported that a blue 2019 Subaru Impreza with Virginia plates had been reported stolen the day before from the 1500 block of 21st Court North.

• On April 24, Arlington police reported that a blue Mitsubishi Mirage with Virginia plates had been reported stolen the day before from the 1900 block of North Culpepper Street.

BURGLARY:

• On April 19 at 7:52 a.m., a man gained entry into a residential building in the 1000 block of North Stuart Street, allegedly opened packages and stole items, Arlington police said.

Responding officers located the suspect in the stairwell of the building, took him into custody without incident and recovered the stolen property, police said.

The suspect - 21-year-old Jamie Marquez-Banegas of Falls Church – was arrested and charged with burglary and drunk in public. He was held without bond, police said.

• On April 24 around 6:09 a.m., an individual unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry to a home in the 600 block of 23rd Street South, Arlington police said.

The suspect fled, and the victim subsequently determined that his vehicle had been entered and rummaged through, but nothing was taken.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a mask, black jacket and dark pants.

• On April 24 at 6:34 a.m., a woman was asleep inside her residence in the 600 block of 24th Street South when she heard a loud noise and subsequently located a shattered window in the home, Arlington police said.

Responding officers conducted a search of the home and no one was located inside.

EXTENDED-DAY EMPLOYEE CHARGED AFTER ALLEGED INCIDENT AT SCHOOL:

• An 18-year-old Arlington Public Schools employee is facing charges connected with an incident that allegedly occurred at Abingdon Elementary School, county police said.

On April 19, police initiated a criminal investigation after receiving information that an Extended Day employee assigned to the school allegedly had displayed pornography to three juvenile victims, police said April 26.

As a result of the investigation, 18-year-old Matthew Pineda of Fairfax County was arrested and charged with assault-and-battery and two counts of possession of child pornography, police said.

He is being held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility, and police are seeking information about additional possible victims.
