Arlington County Board members on June 10 approved just under $12 million in funding from the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, providing funds necessary to support a host of transportation upgrades in the Rosslyn area.

The funding will be augmented by about $6 million in revenue that has accumulated to the county’s coffers through its add-on property tax for commercial and industrial properties.

Funding will support:

• Protected bike lanes on North Lynn Street from Arlington Boulevard to Wilson Boulevard and on Wilson Boulevard between North Lynn Street and North Oak Street and between North Lynn Street and North Kent Street.

• Cycle track (exclusive bikeway) on Fort Myer Drive between Wilson Boulevard and North Fairfax Drive and on North Lynn Street between Wilson Boulevard and Langston Boulevard.

• Sidewalk improvements on Fort Myer Drive in the vicinity of Langston Boulevard.
