Volunteers from local businesses and organizations on April 24 came together for the 24th annual Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day, sponsored by Amazon.

Produced each year by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s Community Action Committee, this day of service provides an opportunity for non-profit organizations to develop relationships with Arlington businesses, and for businesses to give back to the community.

“Today is such a wonderful reflection and affirmation of the connections and generosity between the nonprofit and business community,” said Jennifer Davies of the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, who heads the Community Action Committee. “There are many ways to give back and today demonstrated this.”

Throughout the day, volunteers completed various projects for 15 local nonprofits. Projects ranged from cleaning and organizing sites to trash collection, painting classrooms to making food baskets, and much more.

After the morning projects were completed, a celebration and lunch was held at Arlington Community Federal Credit Union.  Following the celebration and lunch, volunteers completed afternoon projects at remaining projects sites.
