COMMUNITY FORUM TO FOCUS ON YOUTH WELLNESS: The Arlington County government’s Department of Human Services will present a forum – “Moving Beyond Conversations on Wellness for Children, Youth and Families” – on Saturday, May 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Washington-Liberty High School.

The event will include lunch and child care for registered participants.

UPCOMING FORUMS TO LOOK AT RANKED-CHOICE VOTING: The League of Women Voters of Arlington & Alexandria City will be hosting several upcoming educational events focused on ranked-choice voting, which is being used for both the Democratic primary and general election for the lone County Board seat on the 2024 ballot in Arlington.

Upcoming hour-long sessions will be held:

BAR FOUNDATION WORKSHOP TO FOCUS ON MENTAL-HEALTH RESOURCES: The Arlington County Bar Foundation will present a forum on mental-health services, with a focus on community resources and civil-court proceedings, on Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. at Central Library.

MASTER GARDENERS TO LOOK AT BEVERAGES: Master Gardeners of Northern Virginia will present an online program – “Drink Your Garden: Herbs, Fruits and Flowers for the Glass” – on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m.

Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners Susan Wilhelm and Kathryn Kellam will highlight many plants that can be grown for use in teas, sodas, mocktails and other beverages.

NATIONAL CHAMBER ENSEMBLE TO CLOSE OUT SEASON: The National Chamber Ensemble will close out its 2023-24 season with “Concerto Celebration,” featuring works by Felix Mendelssohn, Ludwig von Beethoven and Joseph Bologne.

The performance will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ballston Center at Marymount University, 1000 North Glebe Road. Performing will be Leo Sushansky, Carlos César Rodríguez, Nadine Kim, Hanbing Jia, Uri Wassertzug and Steven Honigberg.

Paid admission also provides access to stream the concert an unlimited number of times.
