Arlington County Board members make appointments

Karantonis picked to succeed Cristol on N.Va. Transportation Commission

Arlington County Board members recently made the following appointments to local advisory panels.

Karen Herrling was appointed to the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth and Families. Alyssa Tope was appointed to the Commission for the Arts. Daniel Adams was appointed to the Community Services Board. Joseph Oyler IV and Paula Sorrell were appointed to the Economic Development Commission.

Brian Harner, Claire Noakes and Stacy Snyder were reappointed to the Joint Facilities Advisory Commission. Margarita Scott Brose was appointed and Steve Wardell was reappointed to the Neighborhood Complete Streets Commission. Eric Berkey and Tony Stringer were appointed to the Planning Commission. Jason Despain was reappointed to the Sports Commission.

In addition, County Board member Takis Karantonis was appointed as a board representative on the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, and will succeed board member Katie Cristol, who is resigning from office in July. Karantonis also was designated as Arlington’s appointee to the Virginia Railway Express operations board.
