Arlington Chamber bestows annual public-safety awards

Honors noted life-saving and exception service
student-trophy

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce on June 27 bestowed its annual Public-Safety Awards, representing outstanding achievement by local personnel over the past year and throughout their careers.

Honored with the Valor Award were Sgt. Jeffrey Lubin, Cpl. Shawn Playford, Cpl. Davey Tucker Jr., Officer Patrick Bane, Officer Connor DiVincenzo, Officer Conor Fitzgerald and Officer Quinton Johnson of the Arlington County Police Department.

Honored with the Life-Saving Award were Public-Safety Communicator Dina Alkhawaja of the Arlington County Department of Public-Safety Communications and Emergency Management; Cpl. Ly Phan of the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office; and Cpls. Thomas DeNoville and Ryan Williams.

Receiving Meritorious Service Awards, representing achievement over an extended period of time, were Firefighter Kevin Travers of the Arlington County Fire Department; Inmate Service Counselor II Camille Watkin of the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office; Lt. Michael Laird of the Arlington County Police Department; and the Emergency Communications Center shift led by Operations Supervisors Catherine Dawkins and Kristine Mangione of the Arlington County Department of Public-Safety Communications and Emergency Management.
