Four Northern Virginia jurisdictions were in the seven-figure club for January, with the average sales price of single-family homes in their confines clocking in at more than $1 million.

For the month, Alexandria led the pack with an average sales price of $1,348,566, according to figures reported by MarketStats by ShowingTime based on listing activity from Bright MLS.

Also above the seven-figure threshold were Arlington ($1,286,970), Falls Church ($1,111,000) and Loudoun County ($1,026,846).

Just out of the running was Fairfax County, where the average sales price was $977,209.

Fairfax has been on the bubble ever since it first crossed the $1 million mark in October 2021. During 2022, its monthly average price stood above the million-dollar mark on nine occasions, below it on three.

Rounding out major jurisdictions in Northern Virginia, the average sales price for single-family homes in Prince William County in January was $613,511.

Figures represent most, but not all, sales during the period. All January 2023 figures are preliminary and are subject to revision.
